Thrasher is a skateboard magazine founded in San Francisco in 1981.

The main articles in this magazine are about skateboarding, music and photography. The founders are Fausto Vitello and Eric Swenson, they own also Independent Trucks Co. and used the magazine as a primary way to promote their trucks. Was in 1993 that Thrasher turned in to the icon that is now thanks to Jake Phelps, editor of the magazine at that time. Thrasher have seen many collabs, one famous was with Playstation in a skateboard video game called "Thrasher presents Skate and Destroy"

The title "Skater of the Year" is awarded every year by Thrasher magazine and it is one of the most respected wards in the skate industry today.
