Ocean One SSS (Super Stiff Skinny) UHM Carbon Mast

The Ocean One SSS UHM mast is built for riders who want the purest connection between board and foil. Designed with Ultra-High Modulus carbon and manufactured using full autoclave construction, this mast delivers exceptional stiffness, efficiency, and control at speed — without unnecessary bulk.

Every detail of the SSS mast has been refined to reduce drag, increase responsiveness, and let your foil perform exactly as it should. Whether you’re pushing speed downwind, carving clean lines in surf, or riding powered on a wing, this mast stays quiet, composed, and incredibly direct under load.

Construction & Feel

The Ocean One SSS mast is produced using aerospace-grade autoclave curing, a process that applies high pressure and controlled heat throughout the curing cycle. This removes microscopic air pockets in the resin and creates a superior fiber-to-resin ratio, resulting in a structure that is lighter, stiffer, and significantly stronger than conventional carbon molding methods.

On the water, this translates into a mast that feels precise and locked-in, even at high speeds. There is no vague flex, no delayed feedback — just clean power transfer and confidence when it matters most.

Design Philosophy

The SSS (Super Stiff Skinny) profile is intentionally slim. By keeping chord width and thickness to an absolute minimum while maintaining stiffness, drag is reduced and glide is improved. The 2-way tapered design places material only where it is structurally required, keeping the mast fast through the water and stable under load.

Titanium inserts are standard on all Ocean One masts, ensuring long-term durability and secure mounting, even with frequent setup changes.

Compatibility & Setup

Ocean One masts are designed to integrate seamlessly with Axis fuselages.
With an optional adaptor, the mast can also be used with Code and Lift foils, allowing you to keep a high-end mast while running multiple foil systems.

The base plate features precision-cut 8mm bolt slots, making installation fast, secure, and repeatable.

Available Lengths & Intended Use

78cm SSS UHM Mast

The most performance-driven mast in the range. Extremely slim and exceptionally stiff, the 78cm SSS is aimed at experienced foilers chasing maximum speed and glide.

It excels in prone foiling, downwind foiling, and wind winging when efficiency and top speed are the priority.

84cm SSS UHM Mast

The most versatile option in the SSS lineup. The 84cm length offers excellent clearance while remaining fast and responsive, making it suitable for a wide range of disciplines.

It performs beautifully in prone surf foiling, downwind SUP foiling, and powered wind winging.

Please note: the 84cm SSS is recommended for wings with a maximum wingspan of 1200mm.

90cm SSS UHM Mast

Designed with wind winging and tow foiling in mind, the 90cm mast offers extra clearance and control when conditions are bigger, rougher, or more technical.

The added length provides more freedom through chop and steeper wave faces, while maintaining the stiffness and efficiency the SSS range is known for.

Modular by Design

You can upgrade your Ocean One UHM mast with an adaptor that allows compatibility with other brands’ wings. This keeps your setup flexible and future-proof while maintaining the performance advantage of a premium mast.

Mast Covers

Mast covers are produced locally in Australia at Ocean One HQ.
Due to high demand, cover production is currently running behind schedule.

If you do not require a cover, ordering without one will allow your mast to ship faster.
If you’re happy to wait, covers can still be ordered together with the mast.

Care & Assembly

We recommend using Tef-Gel on all bolts to prevent corrosion. A small amount of candle wax or Vaseline during assembly will help with the tight fit and ensure smooth installation. All mast joins include a glass barrier to further protect against corrosion.

Carbon masts are extremely strong but should be treated with care. Avoid impacts, inspect regularly, and do not ride a damaged mast without proper repair.

Important Notes

SSS masts are designed for experienced riders. Their thin profile is optimized for efficiency and stiffness, not for heavy jumping or very large wingspans. While some riders do jump SSS masts, we recommend the SS mast range for frequent jumping or oversized wings.

All Ocean One masts are fully tested with Ocean One aluminium fuselages. Corrosion caused by low-quality or poorly anodised fuselages is not covered under warranty.
