Catch and stash.

The F-ONE FRIGATE 2 is a high-performance parawing built to get you upwind faster, extend your downwind runs and unlock more speed with less effort. Compared with the original FRIGATE, this second generation combines a higher aspect ratio, a wider usable wind range, stronger high-end stability, improved low-end pumping and a cleaner, faster stashing system.

It is aimed at intermediate to experienced parawing riders who want more efficiency and direct performance without turning every session into a technical exercise. Smooth depower, predictable feedback and intuitive handling keep the FRIGATE 2 accessible, while its refined profile delivers the speed and upwind angle ambitious riders are looking for.

F-ONE FRIGATE 2 highlights

  • Wider wind range with improved efficiency from the low end through to the high end
  • Higher aspect ratio and optimized profile for sharper acceleration, stronger upwind performance and more top speed
  • Improved pumping response thanks to additional ribs and a tauter, more reactive canopy
  • Double Dynamic Bridle System for direct feedback, clean power control and fewer tangles
  • Pack Assist for quick depower, easier stashing and faster deployment
  • Greater depower for more comfort in stronger wind and better control with smaller foils and boards
  • Ultra Light Ribs and new fabrics for lower weight, improved responsiveness and a more compact pack-down
  • New vertical carbon bar for improved grip, comfort and maximum depower

What is new compared with the original FRIGATE?

The FRIGATE 2 is more than a small update. F-ONE redesigned the profile with a significantly higher aspect ratio and added more ribs to improve canopy tension. The result is a parawing that accelerates harder, pumps more efficiently and maintains its shape more consistently through lulls, gusts and stronger wind.

The bridle layout is shorter and cleaner, reducing line clutter and aerodynamic drag. The new Double Dynamic Bridle System, Pack Assist and vertical carbon bar also make the wing easier to control, stash and relaunch. A softer canopy and lighter internal structure allow the FRIGATE 2 to pack down smaller while remaining responsive in flight.

Speed, upwind efficiency and a wider wind range

The refined high-aspect profile is designed to turn wind into forward drive. It delivers efficient power in lighter conditions, a high upwind angle and fast acceleration, while remaining stable and predictable when the breeze builds. This makes it easier to gain ground before a downwind run and gives advanced riders the speed needed to use smaller, faster foils.

Additional ribs help the canopy remain taut and responsive. They also improve pumping efficiency in the low end, making the FRIGATE 2 easier to work onto foil when the wind is marginal. In the high end, the increased depower and stable tips reduce fatigue and help the rider stay in control.

Double Dynamic Bridle System

F-ONE's Double Dynamic Bridle System acts on both the front and rear lines as the parawing is sheeted in and out. It optimizes the shape and balance of the canopy automatically, without pulleys, yokes or rider adjustment.

Removing unnecessary central bridles creates a cleaner bar area, a wider grip zone and a simpler visual layout. The reduced complexity minimizes the risk of tangles, improves direct feedback and lowers drag. It also maintains better canopy tension when fully sheeted out, increasing comfort and control across a broad wind range.

Pack Assist: quicker to neutralize, stash and deploy

The Pack Assist system uses a dedicated set of front bridles to neutralize the parawing immediately. Slide your hand a short distance along the white spliced bridles and the wing loses power, adopting a stable shape that is ready to be packed into a stash belt or bag.

This clean system removes the need for a separate depower handle. Shorter bridles and the optimized internal rib structure help the canopy fold naturally, making stashing faster and reducing the chance of line tangles when it is time to redeploy.

Ultra Light Ribs and optimized fabrics

The ribs, mini-ribs and diagonal ribs have been lightened to reduce overall weight without sacrificing stiffness. This Ultra Light Ribs construction improves packability, helps the parawing stay in the air in lighter wind and gives it a more immediate response when pumping or accelerating.

Every size is individually optimized to preserve the same intuitive feel. The larger 5.5 and 6.5 m² versions use a hybrid fabric layout: a stronger 32 g fabric at the front maintains the profile and stability, while a fabric that is 20% lighter is used toward the trailing section and underside to reduce weight and improve low-end response.

Ergonomic vertical carbon bar

The vertical carbon bar features a molded front extension that improves support near the front bridles. This gives the rider a more natural balance point and makes it easier to sheet out without excessive wrist effort or front-hand pressure, even when riding without a harness.

An integrated shielding tube at the A-point protects the fingers when the canopy pivots or is packed. EVA grip and EVA bumpers improve comfort and protect both rider and equipment from impacts.

Proven handling in real conditions

Early technical testing highlighted calm wingtips in gusty and strong wind, smooth depower, light and predictable bar pressure, and a stable canopy profile under load. Testers also noted the direct feel of the simplified bridle layout, quick dry stashing and an easy water relaunch. In most situations, a light pull on the white A-line is enough to lift the parawing cleanly from the water.

Who is the F-ONE FRIGATE 2 for?

  • Intermediate and experienced parawing riders who already have the basics under control
  • Downwind foilers who want to travel upwind efficiently before stashing the wing
  • Riders looking for more speed, VMG and top-end control than the original FRIGATE
  • Foilers using smaller, faster hydrofoils and compact boards
  • Explorers who value a compact, quick-drying setup that can be carried on the water

If your main priority is maximum forgiveness for your first parawing sessions, the F-ONE QUEST remains the more progression-focused option. If you already parawing and want stronger speed, upwind performance and a wider performance envelope, the FRIGATE 2 is the natural step up.

Frequently asked questions

Is the F-ONE FRIGATE 2 suitable for beginners?

It remains intuitive and user-friendly, but its performance focus makes it best suited to riders who can already parawing. Complete beginners who prioritize maximum ease and forgiveness may prefer the F-ONE QUEST.

How does the FRIGATE 2 differ from the FRIGATE V1?

The second generation has a higher aspect ratio, additional ribs, a wider wind range, improved low-end pumping, greater high-end stability and depower, shorter bridles, the Double Dynamic Bridle System, Pack Assist, lighter construction and a new vertical carbon bar.

How does Pack Assist work?

Move your hand a few centimeters along the white front bridles. This immediately neutralizes the wing and puts it into a stable position for stashing. No separate depower handle is required.

Can the FRIGATE 2 be relaunched from the water?

Yes. The water-resistant materials and optimized bridle layout make relaunch straightforward. A light pull on the white A-line is normally enough to lift the canopy from the water.

Which size should I choose?

Your ideal size depends on rider weight, foil area, board volume, skill level and local wind conditions. Contact Wake Style for a personal recommendation based on your complete setup and intended riding conditions.
