Foil Assist / E-Foil Lessons

Foil Assist (E-Foil Assist) Private Lesson

Foiling has never been as accessible as it is today. A Foil Assist system helps you build speed effortlessly and automatically switches off once you are flying on the foil. During this private lesson, you will learn how to use the Foil Assist correctly and how to get on foil as easily and efficiently as possible — so you can experience the silent, floating sensation that makes foiling so addictive.

Why choose a private lesson?

In a private lesson, you receive the instructor’s full attention. Every minute is focused on your level, your technique, and your personal learning curve. This means you progress much faster than in a group lesson — and in the end, a private lesson often turns out to be the more efficient and cost-effective option.

What is a Foil Assist?

A Foil Assist is a compact electric motor system designed to help you get up to foiling speed. It is commonly used for prone foiling, SUP foiling, and downwind foiling. Once you are flying above the water, the motor automatically switches off, allowing you to enjoy the pure foil sensation without propulsion.

The system consists of:

  • A lightweight motor mounted on the foil mast

  • A battery worn in a compact waist pack

  • A handheld remote control that allows you to manage power intuitively

What is the difference between an E-Foil and a Foil Assist?

A Foil Assist is a lightweight, temporary propulsion system that helps you accelerate and take off. Once you are on foil, it switches off and you rely on waves or glide to stay flying. It is used to support existing foiling disciplines such as downwind, SUP, or prone foiling.

An E-Foil is a fully motorized board with continuous power and lift controlled by a motor at all times. Our lessons focus on Foil Assist–supported foiling, not full E-Foil riding.

Why use a Foil Assist?

Prone foiling and surf foiling are technically demanding disciplines. Even if you paddle at the right moment and manage to stand up, foil rides are often short — and if you are not foiling, you are not learning to foil.

A Foil Assist helps you:

  • Get on foil consistently and easily

  • Catch more waves

  • Start further offshore for longer rides

  • Spend more time flying and less time struggling

Downwind SUP foiling is even more challenging and normally requires years of SUP experience before you can foil for any meaningful distance. The Foil Assist removes the hardest part of the learning curve, allowing you to focus on what really matters: balance, control, and efficient foiling technique.

Learning wingfoiling with a Foil Assist

The Foil Assist is also a powerful tool for people learning wingfoiling. It is especially useful in light-wind conditions or for riders who struggle with the transition from planing to foiling.

In some sessions, the wing is temporarily set aside and the focus is placed entirely on board control and foil balance using the Assist. Because speed and lift are fully controllable, you can practice correct body position and foil control repeatedly — without depending on wind gusts. This dramatically accelerates learning.

Equipment used during the lesson
