F-ONE Titan 2 Foil System Review (2026)

maart 14, 2026

A Major Upgrade for Modular Foils

F-ONE recently introduced the Titan 2 foil system, a completely redesigned platform that replaces the previous Titan ecosystem used across many of their hydrofoil setups.

Whenever a major brand updates its entire foil platform, the reaction within the foiling community is usually mixed. Some riders welcome the innovation and improved performance, while others are concerned about compatibility with existing gear.

So the real question is simple:

Is the new F-ONE Titan 2 system actually better than the original Titan platform?

After testing and examining the new system closely across several disciplines—including wingfoiling, downwind foiling, prone foiling and SUP foiling—it’s clear that Titan 2 represents a meaningful step forward in engineering and usability.

In this review we take a deep dive into:

  • The build quality of the Titan 2 foil system

  • The new design improvements

  • The mast options (12 mm vs 14 mm)

  • The practical experience of assembling and using the system

F-ONE Titan 2 System Overview

The F-ONE Titan 2 system is designed as a modular hydrofoil platform allowing riders to combine different masts, fuselages, front wings and stabilizers.

Compared to the previous Titan system, the new version focuses on:

  • Improved structural rigidity

  • Better machining tolerances

  • Simplified component interfaces

  • Premium hardware and accessories

The goal is to create a platform that feels solid, durable and future-proof, capable of supporting the next generation of high-performance foil wings.

Build Quality and Engineering

One of the first things that stands out with the Titan 2 foil system is the exceptional build quality.

The machining tolerances are extremely tight and every component fits together with precision. When assembling the foil, each part locks into place cleanly, giving the setup a reassuring feeling of solidity.

This level of precision is particularly important for hydrofoil systems because even small movements or flex between components can negatively affect performance and control.

Key build quality highlights include:

  • Very clean CNC machining

  • Tight fitting component interfaces

  • High-quality finishing across all parts

  • A rigid and confidence-inspiring assembled structure

Once assembled, the Titan 2 platform feels rock solid on the water, which is exactly what riders want when pushing their foil in demanding conditions.

Titanium Hardware and Clean Front Wing Interface

Another significant improvement is the use of titanium bolts, particularly in the front wing connection.

The front wing attaches with two titanium T8 bolts, creating a simple but extremely strong connection point.

This design brings several benefits:

  • Faster foil assembly

  • Reduced hardware complexity

  • Increased durability and corrosion resistance

  • A cleaner and more secure interface

While it might seem like a small detail, the simplified bolt system contributes to the overall feeling that the Titan 2 platform has been carefully refined and engineered for long-term use.

Premium Accessories and Packaging

F-ONE has also invested effort into improving the accessories included with the Titan 2 system.

The foil bags in particular stand out. Each component is protected by well-designed covers that fit tightly and slide on easily, helping keep the gear protected during transport.

Other thoughtful details include:

  • Durable bag materials that hide wear over time

  • Excellent component protection

  • A high-quality multi-tool included with the system

  • Well-organized packaging

These details make the Titan 2 platform feel like a complete premium product package, rather than just a collection of foil parts.

Improved Mast Base System

The mast base interface on the Titan 2 system is also very well designed.

When used together with the new T6 bolts and track nuts, the system allows riders to quickly mount the mast once the correct board position has been determined.

This significantly speeds up the setup process, especially for riders who:

  • Travel frequently with their foil gear

  • Switch between multiple boards

  • Adjust their setups regularly

The improved mounting solution makes preparing your gear for a session quick and hassle-free.

Titan 2 Mast Options: 12 mm vs 14 mm

One of the key decisions when choosing a Titan 2 foil setup is selecting the mast thickness.

F-ONE currently offers two main mast options:

  • 12 mm mast

  • 14 mm mast

Each option targets slightly different riding styles.

12 mm Mast – Maximum Efficiency

The 12 mm mast is designed to reduce drag and maximize efficiency.

Advantages include:

  • Faster glide

  • Lower hydrodynamic drag

  • Higher overall speed potential

This mast is particularly appealing for downwind foiling and long glide sessions, where efficiency plays a major role.

However, the thinner profile means it is slightly less stiff compared to thicker masts.

14 mm Mast – Maximum Stiffness and Control

The 14 mm mast provides greater torsional rigidity.

This makes it better suited for riders who:

  • Push harder in turns

  • Ride waves aggressively

  • Use larger span front wings

  • Prefer a very direct feeling underfoot

The added stiffness can provide more control in demanding conditions, particularly for heavier riders or those riding powerful ocean swell.

Small Downsides of the Titan 2 System

Although the Titan 2 platform is clearly a step forward, there are a couple of small details that could have been improved.

Mixed Bolt Sizes

One minor annoyance is that the system uses two different bolt sizes (M8 and M6).

Many riders would have preferred a single bolt standard across the entire foil, which would simplify tools and maintenance.

Fortunately, the supplied multi-tool supports both sizes, but it still means carrying two tool sizes if the original tool is lost.

Cosmetic Carbon Finish on the Mast

Another small observation concerns the carbon finish of the 12 mm mast.

From a performance perspective, the mast works perfectly. However, the visual carbon layup appears slightly less refined compared to the rest of the system.

In today’s premium foil market, where brands are pushing extremely clean carbon finishes, this detail stands out slightly.

Importantly, this is purely cosmetic and does not affect performance.

Final Verdict: Is the F-ONE Titan 2 System Worth It?

The introduction of the F-ONE Titan 2 foil system was initially controversial, largely because it replaced a widely used platform.

However, looking purely at design, engineering and usability, the Titan 2 platform clearly represents an evolution.

The system offers:

  • Excellent build quality

  • Precise machining and tight tolerances

  • Clean and strong component interfaces

  • High-quality accessories and packaging

  • A fast and practical mounting system

While there are a few small details that could have been optimized further, the overall impression is that Titan 2 is a refined, modern foil platform designed for the next generation of hydrofoils.

For riders looking to build a high-performance modular foil setup, the Titan 2 system provides a solid and future-proof foundation.
